How to truly be RADIANT…

How to be a light, when you wonder if you have the right to shine…    Across my mind, I have written this post a dozen times or more.  I am finally feeling brave enough to put pen to paper, so to speak.  As I write I am overwhelmed with His love and pray you feel Him as you read…

Ecclesiastes tells us that there are seasons that we will journey through in our life.  I am full of gratitude for  this season of my life, for where He has had me and my family.  But, there have been great moments of doubt.  Wanting greatly to be used by Him for His Kingdom, am I worthy to be His light?  I have wrestled this thought like a bear.  Searching for direction, some confirmation, I turn to His word.  There I find it… scripture tells me that He is in me.  That He is the light.  His light is in me.  “I am the light of the world…”    To deny His light in me would be to deny Him.  I am His light.  At my ugliest, I am RADIANT in Him!

Know that we are to walk in His light, be His light.

If not for anything else, I must be confident in seeking more of His light to shine through me…  for him… and for them.  He is my Soloman.  They are my gifts.

There are days I am unsure.

What have I shown them ~ what have they seen in me.  Have they seen a mother lacking, a broken wife, a hypocrite or a modern day Debra fearlessly proclaiming, “He goes before me”…

As Andy and I rejoice and prayerfully talk about God and His goodness, trusting His plan ~ she quietly walks over and grabs his oil.  I watch her.  With boldness and assurance she opens it, taps it on her fingers anointing us  with oil.  We have no words…  we just smile.  I don’t know whether to laugh or cry…  Does she even understand the reality, the power of the symbolism of this anointing oil?  No.  But, she will.

I hear his heart pounding and his feet slapping the wood as he dashes up the stairs in the dark… quietly assuring himself over and over, “Jesus is with me. Jesus is with me.  Jesus is with me…”  {I want to snicker and swell at the same time}  Does he fully understand the power of his words?  The power of His name?  Probably not.  But, he will.

Sometimes it doesn’t even seem to be on…  But, they see it.  I know.  They must.  It is in their words.  Their actions.  Seeds are being planted…  With light, the seeds will grow.

Yes, I doubt.   The enemy tells me I am not worthy.  My sins are to great.  How can you shine when you find your self in the darkest of places…

I am learning that sometimes we have to  be in the dark to see if our light really shines.

But, His word daily reminds me…  I am just a sinner seeking His saving Grace. Knowing without a doubt, He is in me.  For them, for you… I will shine.  He will shine.  Even if He is only seen in the dark.  I will shine for Him.

Even at my weakest, I am Radiant!
