A couple of Christmas Ideas…

Well, if you are anything like me… you are busy making your home a little more festive.  I love this time of year and I love to decorate my home for the holidays.  That being said, I have noticed that I have streamlined a bit over the years.  I have tried to find ways to make the transition from Thanksgiving decorations to our Christmas decorations a little more easier.

Here is a couple of ideas for your Christmas decorating…  It’s simple, it’s inexpensive, it’s festive and the kids and I had a lot of fun putting it together!

Our kitchen table has many faces over the year… depending on the mood.   Since we have Thanksgiving breakfast at my house, then scurry to the woods before the dishwasher finishes and then return back with visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads… I want to walk in to a wintry wonderland!  So, to quicken things along…   I simply removed the pumpkins, pinecones and left my mini-evergreens to have center stage.  I even left my burlap tablecloth which looks great for both holidays.  Easy-peasy and it’s done!

I found the mini-evergreens at Big Lots for a little under $5.00 each and wrapped them with burlap and tied off with some green yarn {which I also use for wrapping our presents ~ super cheap & cute}.  I found the groovy wooden box sometime back at a local estate sale and have used it for so many things.  And really, you could actually  stuff your little trees in a number of things you probably have sitting around your home.

And for my little bit of shine on my buffet… the kids gathered some sticks and pinecones and did an awesome job of spray painting them silver.  Stuck them in a vase { I got from Wal-Mart} that was already there and scattered the silver pinecones around the vase.  Emma Mae says I need to add a few more sticks covered with glitter and I think she is right… I’ll have to get on this and post a picture for you guys.   I am loving my living room… my wreaths, my trees, my silver twigs and pinecones!  It’s feeling pretty festive around here…   I am working on a few more things around the house I can’t wait to share with you guys!  So, stay tuned…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Hope you all are loving the holidays and enjoying this miraculous time of year!

Over and out,

Natalie
